Kindergarten Round-up Registration
Wayne-Westland Community Schools invite you blast-off to our Kindergarten Round-up. All eleven of our elementary schools will host a Kindergarten Round-up for parents and children on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 from 9:00-10:15 AM. Parents will have an opportunity to tour the school, explore our programs, meet the principal and kindergarten teachers, receive registration materials, and so much more! If you can’t make it during the day, our school offices will also be open from 6:00 – 7:00 PM on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 so that you may register your incoming kindergartner.
For our parent’s convenience we offer all-day kindergarten at every K-4 elementary school.
Attend our annual Kindergarten Round-up and receive a FREE t-shirt, school supplies, and a backpack. Let Wayne-Westland Community Schools provide the academic advantages your child needs to grow, learn, and thrive!

OPTIMUM TIP OF THE MONTH
There are many kitchen activities kids can help you with that work on two handed skills as well as math! Hold the bowl with one and stir with the other, counting how many stirs it takes to blend ingredients. Use a rolling pin to roll out pie crust or cookie dough. Count out napkins or silverware for each person at the table. Sort silverware.

While working with families and the community, Edison Elementary staff will teach all students the academic and social skills necessary to be lifelong learners and productive members of our world-wide community.
We believe that all students can learn in a safe, caring, responsible, positive, and respectful environment. We also believe that parent support at home with homework and practice is important to a child’s school success and that teachers’ utilization of research-based teaching practices will engage all students to achieve their personal best.
At Edison Elementary, all students will achieve their personal best in a supportive learning environment that is equipped with educational technology and resources for teachers and parents alike. All staff, students, and families must be active participants in the learning process.
